About
About Codefinder MD
Codefinder MD is a mobile app that searches Canadian provincial billing codes in plain language. This website is its free reference companion.
What we build
Codefinder MD is a semantic search tool for Canadian medical billing codes. Type a procedure the way a clinician says it, like “c-section” or “night ER visit,” and the app returns the matching provincial code, even when the official schedule never uses that word. It covers all 10 provinces.
This website is a separate, free reference. It does not run the search engine. Instead it publishes static pages built from official fee-schedule data, including provincial cheatsheets and plain-language billing articles. The live, instant lookup lives in the app.
Who is behind it
Codefinder MD is built and maintained by the Codefinder MD team. We are the company behind the app, and we publish this reference under our own name. We do not attribute these pages to a named physician or invented expert. The authority of each page rests on the official source it cites, not on a byline.
How we keep it honest
Every code and fee on this site links to the official provincial fee schedule it came from. Fees and rules change, so we show our sources openly and ask you to confirm against the official document before billing. Cheatsheets are ranked by annual service volume using the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) National Physician Database.
Not affiliated with provincial authorities
Codefinder MD is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by RAMQ, OHIP, MSP, AHCIP, or any provincial health authority. All provincial schedule names are referenced for identification only.
